Taa-da!

My first exploding scrapbook, and let me tell you before it was finished I EXPLODED myself! Well perhaps it was my fault for not having a back up of adhesive (now I have a year's supply thanks to Joann's 40% off adhesive sale) but it goes much deeper than not having the glue to put it together. Here is my grand idea. Nicole's birthday is on the 21st of August (yes we are both Leo's as many of my friends are- hear us roar!)but I had this idea to create a mini book with her pageant photos. I am a genious right, not--because I decide to really put it together the week of. I got a little off track (some how I lost a week back there) ANY-way I printed the photos I wanted to put in the book, trying to resize them and ended up with the miniature photo that is on the cover. I can't throw anything away and definatly not photos so I just set it aside thinking of really never using it but also never throwing it away. So I am going to be meeting her on a Thursday evening I have to drive about 35 minutes to pick her up and then about 20 minutes to where we were eating (melting pot). I decide to get home from work and start cranking out an exploding scrapbook since the mini album I bought had a large stain in the back (no wonder it was on clearance). But this is when I decide to try something new. I need to leave my house- with book in hand at 6:15. I worked until 3pm, helped a guy from work move a recliner to his apartment and really started the book at 5:30 and lo' behold the old tombow doesn't have any glue left in her. So I try the ole' subway mayonaise trick (the three taps on the counter gets it out for the sandwich artists right!?) not for the exploding scrapbook artist no siree. So needless to say I went to the dinner empty handed. I finally finished it and that little photo made a perfect little accessory for this little metal frame I found!!! So whataya think!?

Wish me luck!

I sent in my CHF submission to become a designer for their products! With 30 minutes to spare. I have lots to post but Paul was in a car accident (he's fine) and threw a wrench into the works today. I can't believe it's already FRIDAY! I still feel like it's Tuesday. But this is a THREE day weekend for me YAHOO so I will find time in between my pj paradise to show off my latest creations. Happy stamping and goodnight!

Muy Caliente!

This is a little tutorial on how to dye ribbon with SU! reinkers. First I found some white grosgrain ribbon and I wanted to punch it up a bit. I found 3 little bowls (you will need 1 container of some sort for each color you would like on your strand of ribbon) filled them with about 2-3 tablespoons of water, filled each bowl with about 8 drops of reinker (here I used real red, only orange, and yo yo yellow). Stir after you add the drops and then place your ribbon in the bowls draping it into the next color. I chose the order before hand to match my super sexy lady I had colored earlier. This was a very easy way to make my own ribbon and I think it turned out FA-BOO-LOUS! I left it over night, then laid it on some tinfoil to dry. The color creeps up the ribbon that is not directly in the dish and makes for a great verigated ribbon. I folded it over itself and stiched it onto a piece of red ribbon. So sorry if you have burned yourself on this HOT! little MOMMA! She has so much SASS- I want to be her! Go out and make something smokin' hot too! Oh yeah the sassy lady was colored with watercolor pencils.

Paul is Hot 2 Trot!

This is a card for my husband who wants his own horse. I thought it was a perfect way to use my new little cuttlebug die. These were just some scraps of paper I had in my bin. This horse is just too cute! And so is my husband! Thanks for taking a look.

Here is the wire frame I was talking about below

Thanks again!

Thanks Galyen and Nevarez family!!!

I received a gift credit card from my friends from 4th grade. They are so sweet. It didn't matter where I was in the world on August 6th Lorraine would track me down to wish me a happy birthday. Thanks you guys you are the absolute best! So the stamping convention was alright- rubbernecker (thanks for turning me on to them Toni!) had these super cute girly stamps, Hobby Lobby's ribbon was on sale so I am polka dotting it up, some thread (that's right I will be sewing in the future), photo boxes to alter, and Ikea had this cool 3D frame I am going to alter. Uh oh I didn't include my cool photo holder. And stopped by Joann's this morning for the fall pack from DCWV 12x12 paper and the cutest die for my cuttlebug. Also swung by trusty Michael's for a spool of funky ribbon and some foam brushes. Wheew. That's a lot of typing! Better get to creating! Thanks Lorraine, Margarito, Michael, Andrew, Priscilla, Robert, Racheal, and Angelina!!!!

More CD envies

These cool little CD envies are for the funniest lady alive and the cutest gal in the world! They enjoyed the photos included on the CD but the envie was just a sweet little treat.

Joann's gift Certificate...

Rhinestone flowers, mini rhinestones, funky pen (so the guys don't steal it at work, and lots and lots of ribbon! Thanks Nicole! I can't wait to use it all!

Nice really does matter

Kemi over at KSSdesigns tagged me for nice matters. Amazing how you can tell someone is nice without ever meeting them in person. Thanks for being so nice! Who to tag....

I'm 25!

A World of Color Lovers:
I will be turning 25 this year. Quite a milestone. Looking forward to the lower car insurance and being able to rent a car. So let's look back at the 25 years I have been on earth…

Day one….it was a cool morning approximatly 4:34 in the morning I entered the world……alright I can't do this to you and definatly don’t want to do it to my poor little fingers! Since my blog is about my craft I will just give you that part. I have always enjoyed crafting even when I was little. I am a perfectionist and have been ever since I can remember. I would fill my plate for dinner so it would be visually pleasing, match my clothes as if they came in a set, color coordinate my clothes in the closet by type. It is a sickness that I have had my entire life but one that I enjoy. Every person in my life is artistic in some way, using all sorts of media….yarn, icing, stained glass, leather, metal, clay, paint, photography, porcelian and me with paper. The person who I am indebted to forever is my best friend Nicole for introducing me to Stampin' Up! and Creative Memories. She had a 4th grade birthday party with Stampin' Up! and I have been making my cards ever since then. The following year her mother introduced me to Creative Memories and that is how we would hang out go to a crop then have a sleepover.
So I started crafting when I was young = no money and using whatever resources were around. This is the reason I have become a hoarder. I can't even open packages of things that are pretty or expensive so I won't use them up. So having supplies and actually using the things that I like is a bit tough because it is like GOLD!
I have made so many friends with these hobbies. I believe that this is really the way to make some of the closest friends. Especially with scrapbooking. You look through everyone's photos and you really get an peek into their lives. Plus everyone shares supplies, ideas, techniques, stories, it is like friendship on over drive.
Well Happy birthday to me- and thanks for all of the birthday wishes! Here's to 25 more years of collecting supplies!
