Mini book craze

So this gal at work is expecting a baby girl the day after my sister. I made this book for her soon to be baby girl, Keyera. I talked with her mom on the phone to get some of the baby stories from her past.

And I am pretty psyched to go to Melissa's tomorrow and scrap/watch grey's/chat/you know the usual.

***Updated*** I am so flattered, Peata found my mini book and featured it on her Scrapbook Crazy About Mini Albums blog!!

Who's the greenhorn now?

Josh, my boyfriend the greenhorn. Alright perhaps they were small mistakes but I had to bring attention to them. I also have my very own cow. Well I wrote the tag for her and said this will be the cow I watch for. She is number 802. She is evil. No I don't think you understand she is REALLY EVIL. So as I was showing her to Ray, Josh's Dad. He said she has a nice build but maybe just a bad disposition. I asked him if that was just like me. He laughed and said 'I am not sure about your disposition.' HA! Although I wish I had 128, she had the first calf this year and has the best disposition. You can pet her whenever you want. So I do. There are 4 mini cows so far, a bull got out and knocked up a few mommas. I guess the rest won't show their little white faces for a while longer.

Call me blonde

I just found the compose tab on Blogger. I was always wondering how folks changed the font and all that jazz! Ugh, another blonde moment on the books.
Now I can list things...
  • like this
  • and that
  • And if you know me at all you will know I LOVE TO MAKE LISTS!

    Well Read

My cousin's Matt, Luke and Adam are the coolest people I know. They have a list of books for me to read that is a mile long. Currently I am reading "The Four Hour Work Week" and "How To Win Friends and Influence People". Both books are facinating. I only read fiction books while travelling and really enjoy Nelson Demille or James Patterson So never being able to get through all of their books I figured I could totally do the audio books in the car. I drive all day for work and often to Stanford. So once I return these puppies to the library I will check out the audio book section. Perhaps that will make a dent in the list.

    Going Bananas

Bits and Pieces from the Missoula Children's Theater made us laugh all night at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. And frankly who wouldn't laugh at a man in a banana skirt and bra?

    Slow it down

Great Falls isn't a fast city. It's easy to get caught up in other things and before you realize it you haven't moved into your new house yet, haven't moved everything from your Aunt's house yet, haven't created in WAY too long, haven't checked off one thing on your to do list in FOREVER. Let's see if I can put on the brakes and get a grip on a few areas of my life. Or what the heck crank the stereo pedal to the metal and don't look back! -this photo was taken driving on 10th while Josh was hanging on for dear life-

    Needs

NEED: a lack of something wanted or deemed necessary

Melissa needs to scrapbook with me at least once a week.
Josh needs to surprise me by coming to town unexpectedly.

I need to scrapbook more with Melissa and find a way to surprise Josh.
I also need to learn how to measure.

I'm glad Melissa invited me over to scrapbook. Scrapbooking, a Friend, love, a surprise, laughter. I needed that.

During one of our scrap chats Alanis Morissette's song Head Over Heels (it's listed on my player if you need to hear it) came on and said it was so about Josh and I. I would have to agree. Music has a way of finding meaning to things I can't figure out.

    Learning

Living in Montana is a learning experience. Did you know if you put your beverages outside on the porch Montana would keep them cold? Did you know that Montana will also make them so cold they will blow up and shoot across the porch leaving a mess like this? Well perhaps I am the only one.

    Game night

So here is the story of my Melissas, Bob and Rob.
    Lindsey met Melissa in Phoenix.
    Missy met Josh in Stanford.
Melissa met Rob in Las Vegas.
Missy met Bob in Great Falls.
Lindsey met Missy in Great Falls.
Missy introduced Lindsey to Josh at Applebee's in Great Falls.
Lindsey introduced Josh, Missy and Bob to Melissa and Rob at Applebee's in Great Falls.
Wow- way more complicated to give birth to a game night!
So if you couldn't tell from the guesstures...carry/luggage/basket, fish and vampire. We also laughed a ton at Loaded Questions. Oh yeah and three cheers for Rob's cooking!

    Now hiring!

Interesting how my friends are always little seamstresses. Toni and Melissa both are and I am jealous! So Melissa was up to something and while we were recovering from Margarita Meltdown the next morning at JB's she gave me this beauty! Can you believe it. Totally perfect for me and even has my name on it- so no stealing! I thought well better put it to good use and serve up some coffee. The ladies at JB's were jealous and asked her to make them all aprons! Not sure if she will be producing a full line or anything yet but she was flattered. Coffee anyone...Toni?

    Ready to Meltdown

With the heat wave we are having...I believe it was 61 today. Wheew turn on the A/C and bring out the flip flops! Great Falls has a fundraiser that is right up my alley. Margaritaville Alley that is! Margarita Meltdown is a fundraiser for the Eagle Mount. We had a ton of fun with all of the hats and glasses. I love Bob's popeye look- totally in character! Josh and I are so nerdy. While waiting for the camera woman, Melissa we both thought crazy tounges were in order- talk about cheese and corn! And the photo of Josh totally reminds me of when Melissa first showed me a picture of Josh before we met. I said "He looks like a Beatle". But she took it as he looks like a beetle, she gave me a dirty look and I thought what the heck- no no no yellow submarine beatle!

    Not yours but all mine.

As I am slipping into my teeny tiny garage on the ice like bambi, I looked over and thought I do have a view. Perhaps not as great as my aunt's but it's all mine...teeny tiny garage and all! Oh and the alley is a power line haven.

    Glass 1/2 full

So here is 1/2 of the scrap room (the wood paneling stuff will be on it's way out and sheet rocked, as well as the ax murderer door -not really sure what happened to that) and 1/2 of my stuff. Can you see that 1/2 of me is frustrated. I rememeber what a stress reliever crafting is for me when my stuff is not in the same place. But I am running for 15 minutes now, and let me tell you I HATE running. But again didn't realize what a stress reliever it was to run. So I guess 1/2 of me likes to run anyway. Let's give a 1/2 of a YAHOO for that!

When you can't craft, the next best thing is to shop. These are from Michael's and Ben Franklin- sad to see this one go but at 50% off it's like stealing! But let me tell you there are so many things that I am waiting to test out it's CRRRRAZY! The big clips are going to turn into something like this for my scrap room or office, heck maybe both! Out of 20 shopping spree's there are 6 that I haven't used one thing from. GEEZ! So a recent shopping spree sent me to find this desk and rolling file holders from Office Max. As well as this shelf but in dark brown, lamp I got 1/2 off and curtains from Target. I will post photos as things come together. I can't wait!!

    C'mon Greenhorn

In the ranching business I am a Greenhorn, a newbie, a pee-on. One day I will learn that cats don't get fed horse pellets, you jump out of the truck while it's moving to open the gate, how to work a pitchfork, to walk across a cattle guard with ease, the difference between a steer and a bull, how to swing an ax. One day my horns won't be green. Perhaps I get to pick my new color of horns or change them with my outfit, or is that not rancher like? Photos are of me trying to chop ice, Josh and I on the four wheeler rounding up the bad bulls that got out, Princess, Nesquick my favorite little steer- he is the only one this color so I can spot him, and of course petting a cow, she's pregnant and should have a calf next month. I guess the photo with the cow is much like the Saguaro photo in AZ.
