Rusty

Using glaze pens to color in an embossed image, normally if i emboss I don't color in, (perhaps I am just lazy) but I liked coloring the lava lamps and there was no way to color outside of the lines with the embossed borders!
A card can really be created using only a few scraps!
Stamping on patterned paper in different colors to add texture and dimension.
Stamp the sentiment, then run through machine with embossing folder.
Emboss an image, and if it's hard to cut out a part, simply stamp it a second time on the background paper.
The flower embossing folder we used was not my favorite, but is just enough texture I don't even mind it on these cards!
I really liked this corner chomper we used, called deco.
Enjoy my poor stamping- yikes!  Almost looks like I tried to stamp on it after embossing!  Sadly those are my current stamping skills.
Lovin' the black, melon and lemonade color combo with off white and kraft!
I took a class at Archiver's on a suggestion from a friend.  It was just what I needed.  A little time to be creative and a little time to be by myself.  Both were desperately needed.  And thanks to Josh for letting me celebrate my birthday in true style some shopping!  Not until I sat down to stamp did I realize how rusty I was!  Notice my stamped images are a bit blotchy.  When the first stamp hit the paper I thought, geez it has been a long time!  I also find that I do not work in a 'kit' environment well.  Meaning I like to have room to stamp to make a mistake and not have to worry about running out of paper.  It made me realize that I start with a stamped image first then continue with the creation of the card.  I picked up some goodies, this was my 'ooh I must have one of these tools!' after using it to pick up the teeny tiny rhinestones in the class.  Genius.  I got a set of Tim Holtz's embossing folders, a stamp set of his, and his great flower dies so I can cut out cute felt flowers like Toni and Kemi.  Chose only a few glimmer mists to start with, black cherry, electric blue, graphite, key lime, and viva pink.   Found some great alterable flowers to glimmer mist!  Some glamorous buttons in clear and black like Janet used here, she used the green ones for closures of a gate card on a page.  Some keys and a pen to make shading on titles and images like Heidi Swapp used here.  And to get prepared to make Eli's book...some chipboard letters in white and black, an album and these page protectors, and these ones too (thought they would be great since I have a MILLION photos of this boy.  I plan to create his album and use 12x12 pages and 8 1/2x11 like Ali's book here.  I have some baseball card holders waiting to mimic this type of page too!
