E1 and E2

First came Eli then came Ethan.  Here they met for the first time.

In true 'Lindsey fashion' I didn't photograph the card until on our way to drop it off to the 1 year old monkey, Ethan.
My friend Melissa made found this set for me because I had wanted it so badly, thanks girl!

The Pen Pal Project Book

This is the cover of my pen pal project book.  I will be collecting the [snail] mail goodness in here.  I created a 9 x11.5 chipboard album held together with book rings.  Each pen pal, I have 6 so far has their own section with a envie tab and page protectors that contain their goodies. I can simply slip in the [snail] mail, whatever it be, a drawing, letter, card or postcard.  This way it only takes a snap and I can go back through and smile at the little [snail] mail beauties!
A little more about the cover.  I wanted to have a bit of lace adorning it, attaching it with staples for a more [snail] mail like feel.  In one of those crafting accidents I stapled my finger...TWICE!  Actually bled onto the vintage lace.  I guess that's one way to dye lace!  Wounded and sporting a band-aid I decided to sew the lace on- with safety being a top priority.  Note: Only two fingers were hurt in the making of this album...so far.  I have been enjoying practicing my handwriting along with Heidi's Love Your Handwriting book.  *Will updade with the source of the mailing label printout.

Each section has a paper source envie that I will be storing items I want to mail to my special pen pals.  I attached the stories I was told about my pen pals excitement to participate.  'Courtney: Do you want to be pen pals with Lindsey?  Scott: What's a penpal?  Courtney: It's where she mails you stuff.  Scott: Ooh, like when she mailed me a Nintendo DS game!?  Courtney: No, just mail.'

'Tammi: Do you want to be pen pals with Lindsey?  Makenna: YES!!...What's a pen pal?'

This was the first letter/acceptance back.  It melted my heart.  I LOVE IT!  Thank you Marta for the inspiration to star' this project and making this letter possible.

For the love of photos, a memory that they have chose to share with you.  Much appreciated.

Alright, now I think I need an old fashioned typewriter to type up my very own pen pal letters.  The look of a typewriter, the sound, the font.  Note: Find typewriter that looks cool and works.

Ah, postcards.  I love to travel.  And the next best thing to travelling somewhere yourself is receiving a postcard from someone who has been travelling!  So exciting to see a snipit of their adventure.

Thanks for looking!  Hope you feel moved to feed someone else's [snail] mailbox.

Outgoing and Incoming [Snail] Mail

This is a thank you card for my friend that took care of all of the 'living' stuff while we were in Seattle and Salt Lake City.  Friends are the best.  The pendant is from Ritzy Misfit.

My grandma's sister fell out of bed and bumped her head, a lil monkey card made it to her [snail] mail box to cheer her up  At 89 she really shouldn't be jumping on the bed.

Toni made this card for me and hand delivered it (with some books to read too!), too cool.  Friends that make cards are even better!  Thanks girl!

27 Book

Finally putting this book together felt good.  It has been so long since I have created- ANYTHING!  So many ideas floating in my head it was hard to harness all of them from coming out into slop.  I kept the journaling to 'the reason' and 'the result'.  This book had so many goals with good intentions.  Some were accomplished, some were no longer of value, and some still need attention.  This being my first birthday to-do book I had made it was a great way to learn what was realistic, areas- like follow through that need more attention, and that I am ever changing into the person I want to be.

Tips that I will be remembering as I put together my next birthday to do list are...
  • Take more photos to document my progress.
  • Put it together as I go along, as I was putting this book together I kept thinking 'man that goal was SO last year.
  • Add more embellishments and texture.
  • Look at my goals more often and make a plan on how I would like to execute.  This way they are more likely to get accomplished.
  • Journal more about how I feel about the goals, whether they are far fetched, easy peasy, something I've been dying to do, etc.
See the WHOLE book here.

Tomorrow stay tuned for my 28 things before I turn 29, the inspiration, the list and the book fixin's.  I am in a creatin' mood and it feels GREAT!

Thanks for the inspiration, Elise.

Little Book

This is a miniature version of Heidi Swapp's book. This is one of her recorded webshows that you can watch and she will walk you through the project. I included some cash for Allison and 5 questions that will capture her as a four year old, my best friend is...my favorite food is...my favorite thing to do is...this is my family...this is my house...I figure she can draw in her answers. Although right now she was pretty stoked about the five bucks!

Goodbye to another...

Made these for Kelli's last day at the office, she is going to be a stay at home mom to her three children. Good for her huh!? I used the left over letters from the heidi swapp class for the canvas. Everyone was overwhelmed with the canvas. And Kelli was glad to see the roses from her actual wedding on it since her cats tore up her bouquet.

An accomplishment

I am going to a wedding anniversary today. 25 years, that is an accomplishment! Here is the card to celebrate it. It says 25 years and counting. They are ranchers and will be branding this weekend. So hopefully I will come back with some cool photos! Have a great weekend!

Rockin' the scrap bin!

Found this certainly celery scrap in my certainly celery scrap folder. Thought this would make an interesting layout. I just can't throw things away, but let me tell you they are starting to add up to a big mess. So here is a card in movement of that. I also had to try out the ole' CTMH stamps I got too! This is SCS Color Challenge 38.

Been creating some cards, but have yet to photograph them. Although I did take 103 photos yesterday! I am really trying to take more photos. I really want to take the 2peas photography class. Perhaps I will print out the 12 week course and really perfect my love of photography! 12 weeks from today.....go!

CTMH Make n' Takes

Toni and I attended an event with many other Demos. This is the party that I found out about Tastefully Simple for the first time. I am taking a Go-Go Asiago Dip with Beer Bread to my little two year old cousin's birthday. I know if I make it at home I will eat it all myself. Misty the CTMH rep created this make n' take for us while there was another more elegant option I thought this was good for boys. I have trouble using bright colors and not putting stickles and ribbon on a card these days.

Toni's Sketchbook Tuesday (on Thursday)

Finally got a good shot of this little card. I am really diggin' the asian feel of it, the color combo is from SCS Color Challenge #140 and Stamping Diva's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. Can you believe I have had these stamps for over 2 years and they have never been used except for my index, what a shame- I LOVE THEM!!

Cuttlebug of elegance

Rarely have a good wedding card or fancy congratulations on hand so here it is.

Page Map sketch comes to life!

This is a page map sketch (you can find it under card maps on their site), really like it, I will be using it again. Actually a good way to use up those scraps (although I had to cut into my new 12x12 DCWV paper pack!). Ah, the endless battle with scraps!

Baby Shower

So here is the gift I gave my new friend Erin for her baby shower. I worked on it at the Scrapbooking Meetup.com event and a little bit the day of the shower. These are so simple to make and a great way to use up those scraps! Of course she loved it and was so glad that she would just have to place a photo on each page but still have a handmade look.
