With my 28 things to do before I turn 29, keeping journal cards in my purse was #20. Mission accomplished. Well, maybe not accomplished, because the real reason to keep them in my purse it to fill it out as I remember the story 'right then and there'. I printed out a variety (some stamped and printed some from this gal here so far) so I would have an option to have it match some sort of theme in my mind for the future scrapbook page that would make a home for the story.
I cut out a library card pocket with my silhouette to store these journalling tags and taped it right into my 'to do/idea/don't forget book' I carry in my purse everyday. Instead of writing my journalling in this book I thought what a perfect place to house cards to get it done right when it's fresh. We'll see how I do.
Then since I had my silhouette out and warmed up I cut another library pocket to house my coupons. So many times I think- 'hey I have a coupon for that!' just to find that it is crumpled up in my purse and has expired. This way they have a neat and tidy home and maybe even will get used! Fancy that. Now for both of these pockets to REALLY work I need to put them into action. I'll keep you posted.

mmmmm...cupcakes

KWERNER is a genius, she put my two favorite things together cupcakes and the perfect color challenge!!!! I love black, white and gray together didn't I tell you July was going to ROCK!? And this is only the second day. Yeah hoo, or woot woot as I read from my past teenage girl scouts - they keep me hip.
Scored the background with my score pal- the best pal EVER, to make it look like the little cupcake paper cup dealio. And cupcakes are a bit high maintenance so rhinestones were in order.

She's only going to be all that for one more day!

And the occasions mini is over on June 30th. These little ladies are too cool. Here is a card that I started 5 months ago. Talk about letting that one marinate. Basically I just wasn't as pleased with it as I thought I would be. I believe it's some sort of color challenge as well. I will have to look into that one though. Laters.

Let's heat it up!

Stamping, seems to be a whole lot of scrappin' these days and this was my welcome back into the stamping world. I need some warming up for sure! I have been on a mini book craze. I want to make a mini book for everything now.
Here is my current creative agenda...
Disney Cruise Album (EK success changed page protectors need to solve that and make title page)
The Mustache Book (working on the quotes throughout)
Miss Arizona Album (This will be a long one, pecking away)
Mom's Horse Album (Have picked out all cardstock and patterned paper to go with it)
Sister's Wedding Album (Need to get one more batch of photos printed, started choosing sketches for each layout)
Untitled book (not sure what it will be called, it is about everything I love...hmmm that could be the title)
Japan Album x 3 for my friends now in North Dakota, South Carolina and Arizona (size and color combo chosen)
and the future creative agenda...
use up 20 lbs of scrap paper
organize photos, keepsakes and layout ideas by event or book in files (this way I can jump around on different projects so I don't force creating anything)
Gold Award Girl Scout Album
Air Force Album
gear up for craft faire in November

Pirates and Montana Bars

Both of these cards are made with Wish RAK images. This set is too cute, but not sure I would use it that often. Created my own sentiments- this was the early part of the getting out of hand with sentiments day. You can see why I stopped on yesterday's post.
Well since I have been here things have been pretty interesting. Everytime I see my mom's side of the family I go home with some sort of grocery item. So far I have been given a loaf of cinnamon bread that was 45 cents, squash fresh from my aunt's garden, a frozen chicken, bananas, cinnamon twists (my FAVORITE!), and then always a togo box from my lunch a patty melt and fried chicken. I have been on a fried chicken kick for two months now. I think it has come to an end. I seem to get in a rut with foods. I will eat them every chance I get then I will be good for a year.
Yesterday went with my cousin to show her friend's sister a real Montana bar. Which was pretty cool because I hadn't been to most of these places. We stopped off at The American Bar, Centerville Bar, a bar in Tracy, Belt Brew Pub, and Harvest Moon. So the firsts we saw in the bars were a two headed calf mounted, hydraulic jacks leveling a pool table, someone I had met a few days ago (this town is so small "I" ran into someone I just met!) saloon doors, a man lick a woman's neck, so to say the least it was very interesting! But on the way home we were pulled over for going 5 miles over the speed limit. My cousin had to follow the cops finger and sit in his car so that he could see if she smelled like alcohol. So we all met a Montana State Trooper as well- talk about the icing on the cake!

SALEABRATE these sets- I am!

Two sets that I didn't love at first sight, but I think they have grown on me. Wanted to use the watercolor crayons on the Merci card, like the childish look it gives. Very whimsical like the set. And the friendship card is made from my scraps. After packing I realized how many scraps I have- GEEZ, I need to go through and use them or give them up. So here is my attempt at making them into something useful, not bad eh?

Album for my Mom's Birthday

I made this book for my mom, there is more pages that will add to it from last year and with her horses in the future. She was pretty excited that it will grow over the years. Really need to gear up into scrapbooking I have a ton to do! Wedding Album for my sister (most likely 2 12x12 albums), Disney Album for my aunt (1 8x8 album), a 12x12 album of Miss Arizona 2007, and of course my regular albums for Paul and myself. I am chronologically up to my Girl Scout Gold Award, then next would be the Air Force. Wowza I'd better get off the computer and start creating huh!?

Cuttle up to your hot glue gun!

Squeezed out a blob of blue hot glue with my little 2 dollar hot glue gun, waited a bit for it to cool. Then flew the dragonfly right into the glue (inked in gold) held there until the glue didn't come back like string cheese. Outlined the bamboo in gold pen also. Ah, I love Asian things. Then of course cuttlebug is back. I love this embossing folder (can you tell?) I actually have another one but you would never know. Once I get you sick of this one I will break out the other. Alright, alright I am sick of writing about it so you gotta be sick of seeing and reading about it! Then my nex to fave style frenchy poo! Enjoy.

Two favorites UNITE!

The little cuttlebug is a keeper, especially with this embossing folder. I embossed the DCWV paper that reminded me of Carte Postal. I put them together and VOILA! perfection. Added a bit of white craft ink to the raised part of the image then spunkified the stamped image with the marker and gel pen. My favorite card of the week by far.

Phone isn't ringing

If the phone rang today with a certain out of state number I would be entering the design world. Well, no calls here just my sister to tell me about her pedicure. These are my submissions to Cornish Heritage Farms. Well off to create another entry, I am bound to get lucky!! Hope everyone has enjoyed their day off and into their four day week! Those are my favorite weeks. Off to stamp my little heart out. Oh yeah, update on the mini book I made for Miss Arizona 2007 she said people have wanted one for themselves- perhaps that was my "design team" call today. We'll see! Enjoy your Monday!
